Thursday would bring a relaxed day for me, with only one simple ground run in the morning, which for me, didn’t affect my pass/fail status, only my class rank. It was my race to lose, since I was sitting at the high in the class with a potential high score of 94%. Because the local runs are weighted twice the amount the ground runs are, nobody else in the class was mathematically eligible to beat my score, provided I got a 100 on my ground run, which I promptly did.
That was it, I had passed, the FAA Air Traffic Control Academy, Tower Cab Initial Training, with 94.82%, a very high score historically speaking, and with a class rank of #1 in my class. I couldn’t believe I had done it.
I had my choice of any facility I wanted off our placement list. Placement would happen the next day, which was a drawn out process. I won’t talk much about it, basically we showed up, and were called into an office in order of class rank, to specify our pick.
After that, we had some computer LMS lessons to do, and had to make contact with our manager. Mine emailed me before I even had a chance to call him! We also had to head over to HR to get our pay adjusted to AG pay (Academy Graduate). After all that, we were free to leave!
