Well, it’s official. I’ve graduated the FAA Air Traffic Control Academy training and will be headed to my facility in a few weeks.
After placement day on Friday, I was dismissed around 10:30 AM. I went back to my hotel, loaded up my last few bags into the car, and hit the road for my long drive home. I was exhausted. I had hardly slept the night before, and was starting to fall asleep. I knew I wouldn’t make it all night long like this, so I ended up pulling into a rest stop in Kansas and taking a nap for about an hour.
I got home way too early in the AM on Saturday morning, brought a few bags inside and quickly fell asleep.
I report to my facility next week, so I’ve been very busy packing, looking for places to live, and coordinating with my new manager about when to arrive on my first day.
In terms of my next few weeks and months, well, I can say that there won’t be a blog post every day anymore, but I’ll make sure to update so you all know how my training is going.
Until next time...
