Last few days have really flown by, so I’ve missed a couple blogs. At any rate, here’s what’s going on in Oklahoma City.
Yesterday (Friday) we ran problem 12 in the TSS labs. It was a busy complex problem, but both of my local runs went very well. I had very little errors but more importantly was really feeling “in the zone” while running the problems, and I had a lot of fun.
Friday after our labs we walked back to our classroom to find two placement team employees waiting for our return to present us and brief us on our facilities! We all hurried back from our break and within a few minutes had copies of our official placement list which would be our projected facilities to pick from later this week!
This week (Tuesday-Thursday), we take our PAs (Performance Assessments). Upon successful completion of the academy, we will report on Friday and make our selections, in class rank order, from the list we received yesterday.
While I have to admit nothing on the list jumped out at me on the initial glance, I am continuing to research and evaluate different options from the list and I hope to have a “top” list by the end of this week. Our list consists of 37 facilities throughout the lower 48, as well as one slot that is “additional” and not part of the lower 48.
Our list also contains 4 facilities that are mandatory selections, so if nobody picks them, the lowest four students will have to select from those facilities.
This Friday after selecting our facilities, we will get our pay adjusted, receive our final per-diem payout checks, and be set free from the outrageous heat of Oklahoma!
Look for a post sometime on Friday afternoon where I will disclose where I’m headed to spend the next few years of my life!
