With less than a week here in OKC for training, it’s time for me to start thinking about moving out of my long-stay hotel and into different living arrangements into the city I’ll be moving to in a few short weeks.
As my final weekend in OKC comes to a close, I can’t help but feel very thankful to be here, to have been offered the opportunity of a lifetime to pursue my dream that I’ve had for many years. It’s still a long road ahead to becoming a controller, but the process is moving forward, which makes me very happy!
As far as the rest of this week is concerned, I will be trying to get to bed early and getting plenty of rest and sleep as I prepare for final PAs this week. I ran down to the grocery store today to purchase some snacks and lunch food for this week, since I’ll have lots of down time in between runs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
I didn’t do much this weekend besides make a very lame attempt at getting my stuff organized and ready to leave on Friday. I’ll probably just do more packing this week, as things start to wind down, since I still have all week to go. Cleaning the fridge might be the first step, and by that, I mean eating the food so I don’t have to throw it away!
As of right now, my plan for this Friday (my last day in OKC, all things going well) is to leave here immediately after the placement process take place, and hit the road for home. I expect to have around a week off before reporting to my facility, sometime later this month. Most of that time will be spent researching my selected facility and area, looking for a place to live, planning a route to get there, and figuring out what I’m going to take with me for my first few weeks until I get settled in.
I do intend on updating the blog during my move and relocation, but perhaps not every day. The same goes for this week, since I might not have much to report during the week and won’t be posting PA specific information on the web until the whole class is completed. Look for something Thursday night, for sure, however, when hopefully I’ll be posting about my successful completion of the academy!
