TSS Problem 9 - Time Races By

This morning we ran problem 9. The only real twist with this problem is that it occurs at night time, so a few different rules. Not many differences though. Traffic is still moderately slow at times, but we are up to around mid-50s in terms of the traffic count in the 45 minute run. The end of the problem usually ends with planes still in the air.

A lot of people have mentioned that the PA problems are similar to a mix between a level 9-10 problem, so that’s a good since that I thought today was relatively straight forward and I didn’t have any major issues. I’m usually missing small things each run, like transposing a callsign or dropping a "heavy" designator here or there.

Instructors have also said that problem 10 really is a step up, but I’m curious to find out how (guess we’ll see in a short 12 hours) – it only has 5 more operations than today’s problem.

The class ahead of us by a week graduated today, and they lost either two or three students, which is about average. They pick facilities tomorrow, so after that takes place, I expect our list will start falling into place. Initially our instructors were thinking the placement team would come in tomorrow or the day after with our list, but my gut tells me we will be lucky to see them on Friday or sooner. I’m really hoping they show up before the weekend, so I have something to do and have adequate time to research where I might want to go.

Hopefully the last night doing laundry here, I should be able to make my laundry stretch from now until next Friday (I’m determined, because I hate doing laundry here)!

Fortunately, not much studying that needs to be done at this point, just go in every day and run problems. Trying to adjust back to mornings, is tough, too. Hoping to update everyone with some news about my location, soon, but realizing it will be over a week, yet.
